It was more than just a cashier making a small mistake...

We unloaded the cart onto the belt. Apparently, she just couldn't wait to get home to her beers...or pot...or out to the bar...or whatever better thing it was she had to do...But she certainly didn't feel that the task at hand deserved even her divided attention. Because apparently...She decided that we wanted to pay for five or six packs of Maxwell House BUT only could only CARRY the THREE that we had brought with us to the check out home on the BUS that we were planning to RIDE...after the bagger offered to help take the groceries to Liz's CAR that we were DRIVING up the street. Anyway, when Liz realized that the total was FAR too much she asked the cashier to cancel the transaction. Said cashier insisted that was impossible in their new machines. (I have been living here since 2004 and have not seen new anything in that store.) She then also refused to let us even look at the receipt. We then decided that we would like a second opinion and proceeded to another aisle after having told her we were doing so..."STOP THEM THEY'RE STEALING GROCERIES!" She bellowed for all to hear! (No seriously! She really was yelling! IT was RIDICULOUS!) Liz and I about lost it! I swear I didn't know whether to laugh or scream! Liz just reiterated that she was ridiculous and we were going to another lane. SO, we did just that...AND LO and BEHOLD!!!.....$93...and some change...

She HAD in fact rang up the coffee a few extra times and a BUS PASS that we had not asked for....We received neither and apology nor her assistance in rebagging...
HOWEVER...

We forgot to get PITAS....SO...
LIZ returned to the Giant about an hour later to see her in the bread section on her knees zoning...Apparently she had had her fill of cashiering for the evening or the front end manager had his fill of her....VENGEANCE IS OURS!
